Everybody Says Yes

Everybody Says Yes

Everybody Says Yes is a 6 piece soul band from Chicago, IL. The incredible vocal stylings of Meghan Murphy paired with John Fournier's original songwriting create a sound that is at once familiar and yet inspiring. With influences ranging from Dusty Springfield to Otis Redding to Van Morrison, ESY is an irresistable musical force.

Meghan moved to Chicago for artistic inspiration and to explore the world of being a solo artist.  She was performing in her one-woman show when John Fournier first laid eyes and ears on her. Through mutual friends and the power of Facebook, John reached out to Meghan to see if she would be interested in making some music together.  The two met and instantly made an organic, artistic connection. When chatting after their second rehearsal, the unlikely duo came to the conclusion that they were saying "Yes," to anything and everything possible to make their collective creative dreams come true.  It was in a moment of hopeful cynicism that the idea in which if everybody did the same, the world would be a much better place. Suddenly, they had their band's new name, Everybody Says Yes.

As they started working together, the similarities in soulful tastes matched perfectly with their love of theatricality, both in music and performance.  It just seemed to fit.  The project, which was once only the two of them in a pop-cabaret duo, started to grow into a full fledged 6-piece soul band. John continues to write beautifully melodic songs, with enough quirkiness to be identified as their own sound. The combination of John's world class songwriting and Meghan's soulful interpretation has audiences all over the country saying "Yes."
